½ kilogram of refined sugar
½ cup of brown sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
2 lemons
1 tablespoon of cloves
1 cup of water (240 milliliters)
How to make Mulled wine with cinnamon and cloves:
First, gather the necessary ingredients to prepare this June recipe. If you want you can also use other spices such as ginger, fennel, star anise and more.
Place the wine, water, sugar and brown sugar in a pan and cook over medium heat. If you want, you can also add the juice of the lemons or use the chopped lemons.
When the mixture boils, add the spices: cinnamon sticks and cloves. Simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
Tip: If you didn't add the juice from the lemons in the previous step, add the chopped lemons in this step to boil along with the spices.
After the previous step, serve your hot June mulled wine in wine glasses. Ideally, the final flavor should not be too strong, but not too mild either. Try it out and let us know in the comments what you think. Happy Holidays!
